4036

Having too many passions is quite a common thing we have noticed these days. People are talented, have developed several skills over the years and find it too hard to pick one. Even though it is a good thing to have several passions, it can get too hard to pick one when it comes to finding the right career choice.

If you want to get rid of confusion and pick the right career option, this post will definitely help you. In this article, we are going to teach you how to get rid of confusion, find the right passion and get on with your life.

when you have multiple passionsToo Many Passions – Don’t Get Screwed:

1. See what makes you the happiest:

If you want to know what you should ultimately choose, make a list of all those things that make you happy. Grab a pen and paper and jot them down. Once you have enlisted them all, see which one draws the biggest smile on your face. I did the same while trying to find the best career choice.

Music, drama, theatre and arts have always attracted me. But what I loved best was music. So I got a degree in that field and since then I haven’t looked back. Yes, arts and theatre are still my passion and I do get up on stage when given the opportunity, but music is something that can never be replaced. It will always be my favourite because I like it the best.

2. Start writing your feelings down:

A second thing you can do in order to find your passion is to simply write all your feeling down. Go ahead and blog about it if you like. Get hold of a personal diary and just express yourself.

At the end of the week, see what you have written and analyze. Maybe that will help you find where your passion is. It is a great piece of advice for people who are confused.

3. Block all negativity:

Negativity will always stop you from being who you want to people. There are plenty out there who are not happy with their lives and will do just about anything to ruin yours. So if you know who these people are and have identified them, make sure to block all of them from your life.

No I don’t mean you have to stop talking to them entirely. But maintain distance and speak as less as you can. Blocking negativity can really help you achieve something big. It will help you know which passion suits you best.

4. Experiment with different ideas:

Another idea that will definitely help you know what’s best is if you just start to experiment with different ideas. You know the things you really like. So make a list of them and try them all for a couple of days. See what is making you the happiest.

See what satisfies you and makes you smile. When you begin to do something like that, you automatically will be able to pick the best one for yourself. So don’t waste any time and just experiment a bit.

5. Look into the future:

Imagine yourself ten years later. What will you be happy doing then? Will you be happy being a lawyer? A teacher? A doctor? Or a professor? Think what will make you feel good about yourself?

Ask yourself basic questions… see if there will be financial security after a while, if you will be able to balance everything in life with a career like that. Looking into the future is so important because it helps you understand so many things. You will actually know what should be the right career choice for you and what shouldn’t.

6. Take a close look at the job market:

Now this step will really make things easy if you take a close look at it. You have to know the market before getting into some kind of business. You must have a good idea about things like these before getting into the industry.

For Example, if you are studying psychology and would like to become a school or college counsellor, speak to your teachers about it. See if jobs like these are well paid and whether people are still looking for school counsellors. If the answer is a yes, then you should pursue teenage psychology in the future.

7. Come up with a three month plan:

After you have decided what you would like to pursue in the future, curate a three month plan on how you are going to go about it. If you want to become a professor, see if you have the needed grades or do you have to study a lot more to be eligible for the entrance tests. Is your research on point?

Can you articulate well and explain complicated things to your peers? If the answer is a yes, then a three month plan will definitely help you. See all the things that you can complete in the upcoming three months. Set yourself some goals and make sure you are working enough in order to complete them.

8. Surround yourself with good people:

Dreams come true when you are surrounded with the right crowd. You don’t want negativity around you while trying to achieve something. And whether you believe it or not, there will be people who would do anything to see you fall.

There are those who know you are capable and want to weigh you down with their words. So be careful and stay with people who believe in you. You will feel positive and work harder to reach your goals.

9. Work every single day:

Another thing you must remember to do is working hard every day. Don’t leave a single day out. When I was preparing for my final exam in music and instruments, I made sure to spend three hours on practise every day. Even if I got a little busy with my cousins wedding and some other upcoming projects, I made sure I was spending enough time on preparing myself.

And guess what? It paid off and I did great in my test. And this is what you need to learn from here. Don’t miss out on any day, stay consistent and work every day. I promise the results will make you very happy.

10. Look for people who are already successful:

Another way to keep yourself motivated is by looking for people who are already successful. There should be five role models in your life who continue to inspire and make you believe that you are capable of doing this.

Once you have found those people, study them and see what they have done in the past in order to reach here. I am sure it wasn’t easy for them. But at least by reading these points, you will be motivated enough to continue with your passions and keep working at it! Plus if you are still having a hard time finding your passion, pick five people who have the same passions as you. Study them as well. It will leave you with some clue for sure.

11. Know that you may never be able to choose and that is fine:

After reading all these steps, this is a final piece of advice for you. If you are still worried and have a dozen career ideas you would like to pursue, then I am here to help you a little more. You can have a bucket list and that is just fine. After spending so many years of simply envying all my friends and how far they have come, I always thought it was best to shift careers after a few years.

Being multi passionate is nothing wrong and you can have a whole lot of fun if you change your choice once in every three years. There will be new opportunities for you to meet and ultimately you will have a great story to tell when you are old. Plus you will be living a great life. You will never feel like “oh I wish I had done that!” You surely aren’t going to be one of them. So sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Be who you want to be and pursue your entire dreams one after the other. Just make sure you have planned them.
